Today marks one year since I announced I was running to become the next Governor of Maryland.

When I launched my campaign, I said that I want to build a Maryland that lives by the rule: We all succeed when we all succeed. And that’s what I’ve been fighting for my entire career.

When I talk to folks all across Maryland, I hear the same stories: Families are struggling to get by while the wealthy get richer. Racial inequities in health care, housing, education, employment, and criminal justice that continue to hurt and hold back thousands of Marylanders. Small business owners who are worried they won’t be able to keep their doors open.

We’ve got to build a Maryland that works for everyone, where the government has our backs. But I can’t win this fight alone.
