John, In the wake of the January 6th insurrection, major corporations were quick to denounce the violent extremism and disinformation that prompted the attack on Capitol Hill. Many of them pledged to halt their political spending, particularly to those politicians who argued that the 2020 election had been stolen from former President Trump. But these public promises quickly proved hollow. Since January 2021, Fortune 500 companies and corporate trade groups have contributed a combined $16 million to members of the Sedition Caucus. They have given an additional $1 million to Republicans currently being investigated by the January 6th Select Committee, including Reps. Kevin McCarthy, Scott Perry, Jim Jordan, and Andy Biggs. Sign if you agree: Major corporations must stop funding insurrectionists and jeopardizing our democracy. The attack on our democracy didn’t end with January 6th. Across the country, lawmakers are pushing bills that would make it harder to vote, particularly for communities of color, and giving election deniers sprawling access to voting infrastructure that could undermine the electoral process. If we want to protect our democracy, we must defund those who are trying to tear it down. Tell corporate America to stop bankrolling insurrectionists and election deniers.
