Dear Reader,

I hope you’ve been seeing the emails Lillian, our membership manager, and other staffers have been sending. I’m chiming in to tell you that the time to give is now. Hechinger’s in-depth coverage of inequality and innovation in education is dependent on your support.

As I've said before, all the tiny details and big picture analysis we stuff into each story take weeks, sometimes months, of careful research, in-person interviews, school visits and data collection. The work is fulfilling and important, but it is not free.

We need to raise $5,000 by midnight and we need your help. We have $800 to go.
