[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

Friends - we're asking you to contribute $5 today to help us hit an ambitious fundraising goal before the FEC deadline in exactly one week.

The truth is that our fundraising has slowed down quite a bit recently, and it’s put us a bit behind where we need to be right now.

The NRSC is on the air attacking Cheri right now as part of a $6 million ad buy, and Republicans have already pledged millions more. So the timing is not great. If we’re going to make sure we can fight back and correct the record, we have to hit this goal.

We know it may not seem like $5 is enough for us to compete with the millions of dollars our opponents are pouring into this race. But what you may not know is that the majority of donations to Cheri Beasley’s campaign come in response to messages like this one — from people just like you pitching in small amounts of money.

In fact, your $5 is our best chance to close our fundraising gap. You see, before you even opened this, someone else had already pitched in their $5 contribution, and by the time you’re done reading, someone else will chip in another $10. But they’re counting on you to join them:

Can you please make a $5 contribution to Cheri Beasley’s campaign ahead of the official FEC deadline to send her to the U.S. Senate? When everyone is chipping in, even $5 has the power to flip this seat.

This race is going to be close — perhaps the closest one in the entire country. Poll after poll shows us tied, so to pull this off, we need everyone to play a role in this fight — including you.

Thank you for having Cheri’s back!

Team Beasley
