We are into the thick of the year-long bipartisan investigation into the deadly January 6th attack on our Capitol. A violent, un-American attack against our sacred Democracy that my opponent participated in. Instead of taking responsibility for his role in the January 6th insurrection, Derrick Van Orden has been busy tweeting that leftists are trying to use the horrific events of January 6th, 2021 to influence the election. This is absolutely absurd coming from a man who was a part of the mob that used political violence to try to overturn the results of the Presidential election. Derrick Van Orden needs to answer for his crimes against America- and give voters the answers they deserve.
What voters deserve to know:
- Who did Van Orden meet with in the days leading up to and during the insurrection? He claims to have been in Washington “for meetings and to stand for the integrity of our electoral system.”
- Did he meet with or has he ever been in contact with Proud Boys or Oath Keepers who orchestrated the deadly attack on our Capitol?
- Did Van Orden ever ask for a pardon from President Trump for breaching the restricted section of Capitol Grounds? Given reports that multiple Congressmen had sought a pardon, Wisconsin has the right to know that from Derrick as well.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: we cannot let an enemy of America into one of the highest offices in our country. I need your help to make sure Derrick Van Orden never reaches Congress.
