BREAKING NEWS: 6 Republican Supreme Court justices just struck down a New York State gun safety law -- choosing guns over children. Clarence Thomas wrote the opinion.

Once again, this Supreme Court has issued a political ruling that goes against the will of the people.

More anti-democratic decisions are expected soon that could end abortion rights, weaken federal protections for voting rights, block federal efforts to address climate change, and more.

SIGN THE PETITION TO CONGRESS AND THE WHITE HOUSE: "This Supreme Court is increasingly facing a legitimacy crisis. Congress must consider Court reforms aimed at restoring the American people’s trust and confidence in the Supreme Court."

The AP reports: "In a major expansion of gun rights, the Supreme Court said Thursday that Americans have a right to carry firearms in public for self-defense. The decision is expected to ultimately allow more people to legally carry guns on the streets of the nation’s largest cities -- including New York, Los Angeles and Boston -- and elsewhere."

A recent Politico poll shows that 88% of Americans support requiring background checks on all gun sales. 85% of Americans support preventing sales of all firearms to people reported as dangerous by a mental health provider.

We're telling Congress and the White House: The American people's confidence in our democracy itself is being shaken by this Court’s political rulings that consistently go against the will of the people. It's time to reform the Court.

Unelected Justices serving life terms have increasingly made partisan decisions that undermine the fundamental rights of more than 300 million Americans.

Two Justices have faced credible sexual harassment and assault accusations and are not trusted by the American people to decide the future of women’s reproductive rights.

Five Justices were appointed by Republican presidents who lost the popular vote, yet they are imposing a political agenda that limits the rights and freedoms of all Americans.

The Republican-appointed Supreme Court majority consistently looks out for the wealthy and powerful instead of protecting workers’ rights and the constitutional rights of all Americans.

Today, this Supreme Court bucked the will of the people and sided with partisan extremists on guns. And it is on track to do even more damage in the coming days and weeks.

We will share the support for this petition with the media, the White House, and key allies in Congress.
