From PJIs Center for Public Policy: PJI has formally opposed the pending CA Senate Constitutional Amendment Number 10 (SCA 10) in a recent letter to state legislators. SCA 10 would amend the state constitution, and as currently written is so broad and unrestrictive that it would encourage and protect even late-term abortions, which most Californians oppose. The amendment, which will be on the November ballot, would legalize and protect abortion up to the point just prior to delivery.

“SCA 10 is designed to more explicitly entrench abortion as a right. It is being put forward as part of an extensive package of bills seeking to dramatically increase taxpayer funding and special privileges for the abortion industry,” wrote PJI attorney Matt McReynolds.

PJI further stated, “Nothing is more fundamental than the right to life. This right cannot be abridged, diminished, or destroyed by majority vote. Over time, scientific developments have informed Americans about the wonders of life in the womb and history will not look kindly on lawmakers who promote the wholesale, profit-driven destruction of the innocent.”
