The Supreme Court – stacked with Trump-appointed judges – just made our
country more dangerous.

They ruled that New York State's concealed handgun permit law is
unconstitutional.^1 They are paving the way for more guns in more public
places from college campuses and public transportation to Times Square on
New Year’s Eve.

This 6-3 conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court is imposing
a far-right agenda on American life, and the gun case is just the start.
Any day now the Supreme Court is likely to overturn Roe v. Wade. We have
to stop these extremists -- by adding more seats to the Supreme Court,
while we still can.

The NRA has played a key role in helping get these extremists onto the
Supreme Court. They've also worked to get the Court to agree to a warped
interpretation of the Constitution. Beginning in 2008, Antonin Scalia and
his right-wing colleagues on the Court have been issuing decision after
decision rolling back gun control legislation.^2

Today's ruling is the Supreme Court's most radical gun decision yet. For
the last 100 years New York has had strict licensing requirements for
carrying a gun in public. But the NRA's allies brought a case against New
York seeking to throw out those rules and other like them across America.
And they just won. 

New York is still mourning the victims of the recent mass shooting in
Buffalo. Now the streets of New York and every other city in America have
been made much more dangerous by these NRA-allied Supreme Court justices. 

Congress must pass legislation to control guns and stop mass shootings.
They're also going to have to rebalance the Supreme Court now, before
Republicans have the chance to secure a Congressional majority in the
midterms. It's constitutional, it's happened before, and it's the only way
to stop the radical right takeover of our courts and our country!
