SPN's 30th Annual Meeting officially kicks off the afternoon of Monday, September 19, but there are several opportunities you may want to arrive early for.
  • Pre-conference sessions offer opportunities to delve into a particular topic with policy experts and peers. Sessions start Monday morning. See the full list here.
  • See the 2021 World Series champs in action. The Atlanta Braves have home games Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
  • Professional trainings, chess class and practice rounds, and meet ups are taking place throughout Monday afternoon. See the schedule.
What to see
Georgia Public Policy Foundation, one of our host state think tanks, offered their advice on what to see and where to eat in downtown Atlanta.
If you’ve seen the major sights before, head north of downtown to the Atlanta History Center, which will engage everyone from Civil War buffs to movie fans (President Snow’s palace from “The Hunger Games” films), then cross Peachtree Road for some top-shelf window shopping at Buckhead Atlanta and a glass of wine at Storico Vino.
For a quieter scene closer to the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Oakland Cemetery is the final home to such luminaries as Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, and Kenny Rogers; work up an appetite walking the sprawling grounds and then visit Six Feet Under Pub and Fish House.

Speaking of appetites, if you go hungry in Atlanta you aren’t doing it right. The city is known for its leafy neighborhoods with unique restaurants:
  • You can grab a quiet meal in Virginia-Highland or check out the bustling food halls of Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market on the Atlanta Beltline.
  • For an upscale take on the traditional Southern breakfast any time of day, head to the original Flying Biscuit in Candler Park.
  • Atlanta also has a burgeoning craft brewing scene, and you can support fellow liberty lovers at Monday Night Brewing, Bold Monk Brewing and ASW Distillery.
  • Finally, if you think you know Chick-fil-A, stop by the original Dwarf House in Hapeville on your way back to the airport for a Hot Brown, chicken and waffles, the old lemon ice box pie, or even a burger – just don’t tell the cows!

Thank you to these SPN 30th Annual Meeting sponsors!
