Shamaine is a first generation immigrant. She moved here from Venezuela with her family when she was thirteen. They left their native country because of political violence, instability, and totalitarian rule.
For Shamaine and her family, America represented freedom and opportunity. They worked hard to realize their American Dream, and they succeeded. Shamaine became an attorney fighting for civil rights, workers' rights, and immigrants.
Shamaine is in her third term on Harrisburg City Council. As a member of council, Shamaine has continued to stand up for regular people. She has fought for affordable housing and better living conditions for city residents. She passed legislation to help small businesses open with lower fees and less red tape, and she has invested in youth programs to help the most vulnerable among us.
As a mom, Shamaine shares the fears and concerns of so many of us. She believes we have a responsibility to protect our Democracy, and to create a better country, and world, for our children.
Shamaine can defeat insurrectionist Scott Perry this November, but she can't do it alone. The Tenth District is the most flippable district in Pennsylvania. We are working hard to build the strongest campaign possible to defeat Perry and we need YOUR help.
