Dear John,

WILL YOU HELP US TO REACH 2,500 ADOLESCENT GIRLS IN RURAL UGANDA WITH SEX
EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL TRAINING?

Our new Empower to Plan partner, the Women and Children’s Empowerment
Network in Africa (WACENA) [3], is on a mission to protect and advance
girls’ and women’s sexual and reproductive rights, while empowering
young people to become environmental defenders. They work with 256 schools
to deliver INNOVATIVE SEX EDUCATION WORKSHOPS, incorporating dance, theatre
and one-on-one counselling sessions. Every year, THEY ALSO PROVIDE 200,000
TREE SAPLINGS TO RURAL COMMUNITIES as part of their goal to create
community forests planted, nurtured and championed by women and girls.

DONATE [3]

Empower to Plan is partnering with WACENA to advance their sex education
and gender equality curriculum, while also enabling the distribution of
5,000 tree saplings to schoolchildren and village women.

Will you join us in supporting WACENA’s crucial educational programmes in
the Wakiso District of Uganda?

Your contribution will make a significant difference to the lives of girls
and whole communities both now and in the future. By planting community
forests in the places most at risk of desertification from growing
population and consumption patterns, WE CAN ENSURE HEALTHY, HAPPY AND
THRIVING ENVIRONMENTS AND COMMUNITIES FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

_“A large and growing body of evidence shows that empowered women and
girls acting as agents of change in their communities can and do bring
about better health and development outcomes for all… With your support,
we can achieve this impact through the Empower to Plan campaign. Thank you
Population Matters!”_
