You can help the Equal Rights Amendment today!

The ERA is needed more than ever and has been ratified, but has not yet been enshrined in the US Constitution. It has taken nearly 100 year of determined feminist action to get it this far, and we are dedicated to finishing the job. 

The US House has already removed the original time limit. Now the House is in the process of advancing House Res. 891, which expresses the sense of the House that the ERA to the US Constitution is valid. This means that the ERA has been ratified. The wording House Res. 891 was intentionally modeled after language used to confirm the validity of the extremely important 14th Amendment (also known as the Equal Protection Clause that guaranteed enslaved people freedom).

177 members of the House have already signed on to the resolution as co-sponsors. We need 218 co-sponsors, the majority of the House, to sign on to House Res. 891, as quickly as possible. To do that we need your help.

Your job is easy! We need you to thank your Representative who has already become a co-sponsor. And secondly, ask your Representative to urge other members of the House to become co-sponsor of this historic House Res. 891. To show its importance, Speaker Pelosi has become the leading cosponsor, along with chief co-sponsors Jackie Speier and Carolyn Maloney.
