Not that Republicans are known for putting country over party, but this is just another level of disgraceful:

They're just straight-up announcing it now: Republicans are far more concerned with clinging to power than with keeping the American people safe. Even after a whole classroom of elementary school children was murdered with assault rifles in Texas, the GOP still would rather focus on winning elections than taking common-sense action to prevent shootings like that from happening again. A party like that is wholly unfit to lead this country.

While Democrats like me are laser-focused every day on tackling the gun violence epidemic, curbing inflation, and addressing so many more of the serious issues facing our country, these MAGA Republicans prove time and time again that they simply don’t care about doing anything to meaningfully help everyday Americans. They are only in it out of greed, thirst for power, and marginalizing disadvantaged Americans in the name of bigotry. It enrages me, and we have to hold them accountable.
