Childcare for All Family Field Day!

Sunday, June 26 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We need universal childcare in Los Angeles! Join us at Woodbine park for food, games, and fun to learn more about our campaign for quality childcare that provides unionized, well-paying jobs. All ages are welcome and encouraged to join us for a fun day in the sun!

Join the Childcare for All campaign for a family field day on Sunday, June 26 2-4PM at Woodbine Park. At this event, we’ll have tasty food, fun games, a custom Childcare for All coloring page, and everyone will have a chance to learn more about the urgent campaign for universal childcare in Los Angeles! 

Eunisses and Hugo widen their leads!

The latest drop of vote counts from the county show that DSA-LA-endorsed candidate Eunisses Hernandez has widened her lead over incumbent Gil Cedillo in City Council District 1, with 16,031 votes (54.03%) to Cedillo's 13,642 (45.97%). If these results hold, there will be no runoff — Eunisses will be the next city council member for CD1.

DSA-LA-endorsed candidate Hugo Soto-Martínez has continued to widen his lead over incumbent Mitch O'Farrell in Council District 13, with 19,122 votes (40.64%) to O'Farrell's 14,895 (31.65%).

Fatima Iqbal-Zubair, also endorsed by DSA-LA and running for State Assembly District 65, will be headed to the November runoff against incumbent Mike Gipson and continues to increase her vote count.

Convention resolutions are posted online

It's gonna be a red hot socialist summer! DSA-LA's annual convention is happening on Saturday, July 16. Details can be found here: https://dsa-la.org/event/convention-2022/

Updates to endorsement process

DSA-LA will be considering candidates and campaigns to endorse for the November general election. Are you interested in motivating a Priority Electoral Campaign for DSA Los Angeles in support of an electoral candidate or ballot measure? Know Your Workplace Rights Training

Saturday, June 25 @ 10:30 am - 12:45 pm

All workers have rights on the job that protect us as we organize and fight for better pay, benefits, and working conditions. It is vital that we know our workplace rights !

 

Join us for an in-person workplace rights training with a labor lawyer from the National Lawyers Guild. We will go over the types of workplace actions workers can take in the absence of a union, even with the most anti-union bosses.

Mutual Aid Committee Meeting

Monday, June 27 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join the Mutual Aid Committee for our twice-monthly committee meeting, where we’ll be discussing ongoing and upcoming committee work, as well as helping folks get plugged into other work throughout the city. New members always welcome!
