I'm Janet Mills, governor of the great state of Maine.

With the Maine primary over, my campaign is pushing full speed ahead towards the November election. But experts are calling this race a toss-up, and a recent poll showed me ahead of my extremist opponent by just 3 points – well within the margin of error.

With so much on the line, I need your help to break out of this statistical dead heat.

That’s why a gift – split between my campaign and the Democratic Governors Association – is so crucial. Will you donate $3 or whatever you can before our critical midnight deadline?

Team – over the past three years, I’ve worked hard to move Maine forward. I’ve expanded health care, invested in public education, fought climate change, protected our lands and waters, and achieved some of the best results in the nation when it comes to turning back the pandemic and recovering our economy.

There’s more work to be done – to protect abortion access, the right to vote, the right to a good education for every child in Maine, and so much more, but I’ll need your help to do it.

If my far-right opponent, Paul LePage, is elected, he’ll dismantle our most fundamental rights. He’ll attack voter access to the ballot box to stop non-existent voter fraud and restrict reproductive rights because he believes, “We should not have abortion.” Now that the Supreme Court has gutted the Voting Rights Act and is on the verge of overturning Roe, Maine cannot afford to have a governor who would take Maine backward.

I’m doing everything I can to beat him, but I won’t parse words: I’m facing a tough battle, and I’m not the only one.

Right now, far-right Republicans are doing everything they can to undo the progress Democrats like myself have made across the country. They’re doubling down on their attacks in swing states like Maine, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania and spending millions to defeat Democrats like me.

If we don’t fight back now, they could make inroads with voters we’re counting on to win.

The DGA is laser-focused on electing Democratic governors across America, and by splitting a donation between my campaign and the DGA today, you’ll be making a direct impact not just in Maine, but in battleground states across the country.
