Since the January 6th insurrection, Fortune 500 corporations have continued to fund the 147 Republican members of Congress who voted NOT to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election. And, according to Americans for Tax Fairness research, 7 of these corporations are also blatant tax dodgers―paying a combined average federal income tax rate of just 2.7% last year on $78 billion in profits.
That means, every dollar these corporations avoid paying in taxes is one more dollar they have to support candidates trying to overturn elections and make it more difficult for people to vote.

UPS has contributed—either directly or through Republican election committees—$336,000 to congressional candidates who deny the validity of the 2020 presidential election.
2021 Profits: $14 Billion and Tax Rate: 9.9%
General Motors has donated over $230,000 to the congressional campaigns of election deniers and the committees that support them.
2021 Profits: $9.4 Billion and Tax Rate: 0.2%
FedEx has donated almost $200,000 to election deniers and their supportive campaign committees.
2021 Profits: $4.7 Billion and Tax Rate: 4.2%
AT&T has contributed $168,000 to the candidates (and their GOP campaign committees) who refuse to accept the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
2021 Profits: $29.6 Billion and Tax Rate: -4.1% (got a refund)
ExxonMobil has pitched in $126,000 to congressional candidates who reject the results of the 2020 presidential contest and GOP election groups that support them.
2021 Profits: $9.3 Billion and Tax Rate: 2.8%
Merck, the huge pharmaceutical firm, has given $120,000 directly and indirectly to members of Congress who refuse to accept the 2020 presidential election as legitimate and to their GOP political committees.
2021 Profits: $1.9 Billion and Tax Rate: 4.0%
Chevron has donated $113,000 to the campaigns and supportive GOP campaign committees of members of Congress who voted against confirming Joe Biden as president.
2021 Profits: $9.5 Billion and Tax Rate: 1.8%
These 7 corporations combined made $78 billion in profits last year and paid a small percentage, on average, in federal income taxes.
