Dear Friends,
This past month, the nation mourned as we witnessed mass shootings in Uvalde, TX and Buffalo, NY. There have been over 250 mass shootings in 2022 so far, and this epidemic will only worsen unless politicians find the courage to stand up to the NRA.
House Democrats have been fighting to end the scourge of gun violence devastating our communities. I voted to pass three critical pieces of legislation — the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act, and the Protecting Our Kids Act — to keep weapons of war out of dangerous hands.
The Senate also introduced the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which includes provisions that would undoubtedly save lives. I look forward to sending this legislation to President Biden's desk, but there’s still more work to do. I will continue fighting for universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and bump stocks — because our communities deserve action, not just empty words.
I want to hear from you: Do you support legislation to implement sensible gun-safety laws? Please take a moment to record your opinion below.
