Reproductive Justice Sign-on Statement
The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to act as soon as tomorrow to reverse a half-century of reproductive health and justice protections, by striking down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.
The expected ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization will hit immigrants and their families especially hard. Some PIF member organizations have fought to protect this fundamental human right. Understanding that member organizations may have different perspectives on this ruling, it is important that all PIF members have an opportunity to speak on an issue that disproportionally impacts immigrant families. We invite interested member organizations to sign onto this statement expressing solidarity, reaffirming our shared commitment to ensuring that everyone can get the care and aid they need to thrive, and urging policymakers to act to restore reproductive justice.
We must act quickly to assure immigrant families that they are not alone and remind politicians that they will be held accountable, so we will post the statement to the PIF site as soon as SCOTUS rules. To ensure that member organizations have time to sign on if they choose, we will leave this statement open for signature through the end of this week, closing on Friday at Midnight, HDT. Thank you for your support.
