# [#] JOHN — Heather wrote to you about what we’ve learned so far during the January 6th hearings. It’s more clear than ever that the attack on our Capitol was a strategic attempt by Donald Trump and his accomplices to reject the will of the American people in 2020.

And Trump had help from over 100 members of Congress, including our opponent, Andy Harris. Hours after the violent attack, Harris still voted to reject the results of the 2020 election and instead continue amplifying Trump’s lie about election fraud.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve watched the January 6th Committee unravel the truth about what happened on that dark day at the Capitol. We’ve learned a lot from these hearings, but some facts we already knew — like my opponent, Congressman Andy Harris, betrayed our country when he voted to overturn the results of a free and fair election and was complicit in the insurrection.

Long before the mob stepped foot in the Capitol, Harris was complicit in the devastating attack. He supported the Big Lie that incited the insurrection, and in the days that followed, did nothing to address the situation. Instead, he tried to physically fight a colleague on the House floor, was caught trying to sneak a gun into Congress, and voted against honoring the police officers who protected him on January 6th.

The day following the attack, I called on Harris to resign — or that I would consider retiring him myself. And that’s just what we’ll do in November thanks to this movement that we’re building.
. @RepAndyHarrisMD we have found ways in the past to see common ground through our differences. However, there is only one way to view your complicity w/ treasonous insurrection against our govt: you must resign immediately — or I will consider retiring you myself in 2022.
