*_Vaccine Updates_*

Over the weekend, the?CDC?s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices [ [link removed] ]?and the?Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup [ [link removed] ]?completed their reviews and concluded that the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines are safe and effective for children as young as 6 months old. This comes following the?U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) [ [link removed] ]?s authorized emergency use of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine to include use in children 6 months of age and older last week.

Parents and caregivers can now get their children 6 months and older vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines to better protect them from COVID-19. All children, including children who have already had COVID-19, should get vaccinated.

Skagit County Public Health will begin offering Moderna vaccine for children 6 months through 5 years at its downtown Mount Vernon clinic at 700 S 2nd Street (3rd floor) starting Thursday June 23, 2022.

To best serve the public and to account for increased demand, all COVID vaccines will be made available at the Public Health clinic?*_by appointment only_*?over the next two weeks. To schedule an appointment, visit?www.skagitcounty.net/COVIDvaccine [ [link removed] ]?or call the Public Health office at (360) 416-1500 for assistance.
