In the wake of the January 6 insurrection, many corporations pledged to stop donations to the 147 Republican members of Congress who voted not to certify the 2020 election and helped fuel the lies that led to the attack. However, pledging to defend democracy and actually defending democracy are very different things. Since making that pledge, several corporations including AT&T, UPS, FedEx, Visa, Home Depot, GM, Exxonmobil, and many others have together contributed over $16 million to those very lawmakers who voted against certifying the election.

We need to hold these corporations accountable – join us in demanding that they STOP funding the campaigns of these far-right members of Congress immediately! >>

Perhaps most shocking is that several recipients of the donations are members of Congress that have been subpoenaed or interviewed by the Jan. 6 Committee investigating the insurrection! Donating to the very members potentially involved or partly responsible for the insurrection is perhaps the ultimate betrayal of their pledge and they must be held accountable.

But not all corporations have broken their pledge. According to recent reporting, 85 of these companies, including PepsiCo, Nike, Target, Zillow, Marriott, and others, have upheld the pledge to no longer donate to these members of Congress. If these corporations can do it, so can all the rest. [2]

Send a message to them right away and remind them of the pledge they took to put our democracy above their corporate interests – sign the petition now >>

Thank you for helping to defend our democracy.

Radical Right extremists are trying to turn back the clock on a century of advances in civil rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, the social safety net and more… they’re waging an all-out assault on the fundamental pillars of our country – democracy, checks and balances, a fair and independent judicial branch, and core values like fairness, equality, and justice for all.

People For is fighting back every day with:

✔ Grassroots organizing
