Dear NRDC Action Fund Activist,
I want to introduce you to Leigh.
She's a young mother from Indiana who had never taken any political action
before joining our community of activists.
Leigh told me when we met, "I never really thought that I could make much
of a change in the world. I live in Pendleton, Indiana, and everyone here
just kind of does their own thing. We focus on getting our work done and
spending time with our families, that kind of stuff. I'm not even sure
where I would start."

That's why I work with the NRDC Action Fund: We're committed to helping
regular people fight for change. Building long-term people power is the
only way for us to take on the corporate polluters and conservative
politicians hell-bent on exploiting our environment for profit.
As an organizer, it's my job to help recruit, train, and support climate
advocates. It's incredible to see people who never thought of themselves
as activists gain the confidence to stand up for their communities.
Leigh started attending our trainings, including one I led to teach people
how to testify at public hearings. In just four months, she...
* Testified in front of the EPA about the importance of cutting
emissions from trucks to clean up our air
* Submitted public comments to advocate for climate-friendly policies
* Wrote to President Biden urging him to fulfill his promise to act on
climate change
* Called her state and local representatives to let them know that she's
counting on them to support strong climate action — and she'll vote
accordingly
* Recruited four new activists to join the NRDC Action Fund's community
of advocates
I'm so grateful for her work with us and the work of all our activists. We
need all hands on deck, because we've faced some stinging blows in 2022.
Make no mistake: These attacks on our environment are the result of
decades of political organizing by anti-environment conservatives.
It's up to us to reverse this country's course, and that starts with
people like Leigh — and like you.
