Alphabet Soup: A Comparison of ISSB's Climate Exposure Draft and the SEC Proposed Rule

A proposed rule on climate-related disclosures, known as the Climate Exposure Draft, has just been published by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)—which is part of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation. There are many similarities with the recently proposed mandatory climate-disclosure rule from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), such as its use of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations, but there are also some key differences.
