Dear John,
As I’ve built and led companies and organizations and served on the San Diego City Council, my focus has always been on how to best serve YOU-- the customer.
My background has prepared me to deal with change and new technology and to take on the leadership of an organization with 400 employees and a $75 million budget. I was the co-founder of a software company that pioneered high-speed internet access in hotel rooms and served as vice president of marketing in the early days of Proflowers.com, a pioneering e-commerce company.
Last week, I attended my Harvard Business School reunion where women were a small percentage of the class in the 1970s. At the reunion, I had the opportunity to attend sessions focused on making government more accessible and inclusive and how to address the challenges of implementing a complex computer system. These issues are very relevant to improving the operations of the County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk, so that we appraise properties at their fair value under the law and collect key property tax revenue that funds education and other important public programs.
We are close to another fundraising deadline! My June 30 fundraising deadline is approaching, so please join us for a reception at Evofem Biosciences on Tuesday, June 28 (5:30 pm-7:00 pm). You can RSVP here.
I look forward to seeing you on June 28, and I would deeply appreciate your contribution even if you can’t attend.
With gratitude,
Barbara
