Dear Friend,
Thank you! I'm so grateful for your support in yesterday's primary election and to be able to continue representing you and our Ward 6 neighbors as your Councilmember for the next four years.
The Ward 6 Council election was uncontested, but we took nothing for granted - knocking on doors, hosting meet and greets, and working hard to earn your vote.
But there's a reason Ward 6 was the only uncontested primary in the city yesterday.
Working together, we've shown what leadership means and what leadership can deliver, and we're on the right track. I work hard every day as your Councilmember, but I can only do it because of the amazing people around me - the incredible neighbors and communities who work in partnership to shape, and deliver on, a shared vision.
Whether it's transforming a school, park, or neighborhood library, whether it's laying out a way forward on the tough challenges ahead like public safety and affordable housing, or whether it's leading efforts at the Council to make sure our budget and our laws are just, inclusive, and address our most urgent needs - we've done it together.
Speaking of together, I have a lot of friends to thank, but in particular, Nicky Cymrot, my campaign chair, and Pat Johnson, my campaign treasurer. Our incredible campaign volunteers have also been amazing, and of course, our Council office team works day in and day out for you and your neighbors and makes me so proud.
As Jordi and I walked with Cora and Everett to the polls yesterday, we reflected on how lucky we are to call this place our home, to be raising our family here, and to have such incredible neighbors and friends. I'm very proud to have earned your trust to lead Ward 6 these last eight years, and thank you for your continued trust for the years to come.
While this primary was uncontested, the 2022 election cycle isn’t over. I’m looking forward to bringing our shared vision for the future to the general election this November, and earning every vote on the November ballot. We’ll enjoy this moment, celebrate our collective victory, and then we’ll be turning to you all later this fall to help tell our Ward 6 story in the general election.
Thank you again.
See you around the neighborhood,
Charles Allen
