The fight for South Texas is not over. While the recount results are not the outcome we hoped for, this movement is far from over.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to every single supporter because I would not have gone as far as I have without you. Every single way you showed up for this campaign has humbled me and shown me the tenacity and strength of the community that raised me.
Our community deserves better and this is why we fought tooth and nail for accountability and change. This fight for South Texas showed that we wouldn’t back down in the face of corporate PACs and politicians that oppose our fundamental rights.
Our movement was never just about one politician — it was about taking on an unjust system that rewards corruption and corporate profits at the expense of the needs of working people. Together, we proved that South Texas isn’t satisfied with business as usual anymore and they’re ready for fundamental change — this is just the beginning.
This campaign showed that our dreams could take on corporate money. We proved just how powerful our movement is and are ready to keep fighting for the future we deserve. Together, we will take control back from Big Oil, private prisons, and Wall Street, and put it back where it belongs: with the people.
We’ll keep holding our representatives accountable to our community and keep up our movement for a better South Texas.
