Dear John,
It’s Giving Tuesday, one of the most important days of the year to shore up vital resources to wage the toughest battles for animals. Reaching our critical $50,000 funding goal today won’t happen without our generous supporters.
John, please make your first gift now when gifts are matched up to a total of $25,000 to help us reach our goal.
With you beside us, we can win justice for animals — like the cats and kittens used in cruel experiments by the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. While alive, the felines’ heads were mounted in frames, their eyes were forced open, their skulls were removed, and electrodes were inserted into their brains.
In 2018, we filed a lawsuit on behalf of Citizens for Alternatives to Animal Research & Experimentation (CAARE) in response to SUNY’s refusal to release public records regarding the experiments.
After more than a year of fighting, we secured a victory! As part of the settlement, SUNY has produced documents proving its College of Optometry has ceased its experimentation on cats and will provide the previously withheld public records regarding the cat experiments and any records about similar research carried out on nonhuman primates.
