Eric Sorensen, meteorologist and Democrat for Congress (IL-17). Thanks to the nicer weather we’ve been experiencing here in the Quad Cities, I’ve been spending my breaks from talking to voters out on the water. Kayaking, and exploring the many small beaches along the Mississippi River, has been my favorite way to decompress after a long day on the campaign trail.
P.S. I love my time out on the river, and at the same time it’s hard not to notice the effects of climate change. Increased flooding has washed away islands where pelicans, geese, and other migrating birds used to nest.
