Now that all 50 states (save Louisiana) have a congressional map in place for the elections in November, you might think redistricting is almost over. But you’d be wrong. Redistricting is not a one-time event and the process will continue in court for years to come. Last decade, for instance, the fight over district lines in Texas didn’t end until 2019.
In my latest piece, “The Redistricting Fight Continues,” I recap the many, many court decisions over the last ten years that changed the playing field for congressional elections. With more attention focused on redistricting than ever before, we can only expect the next ten years to be just as busy. Now is the time to intensify our redistricting efforts, not turn away. |
