John, On this so-called “Giving Tuesday,” I know your inbox has been overflowing with requests from the leaders of various charitable causes seeking donations. While I would certainly appreciate you making a tax-deductible donation today to the work of the Empower Texans Foundation, the purpose of this email is simply to encourage you to consider making a special donation to any conservative group or cause. We have a lot of great allies advancing the cause of life and liberty in the Lone Star State. Those include groups I often quote from in my daily Texas Minute, such as Texas Right to Life, Young Conservatives of Texas, Grassroots America, the Texas Home School Coalition, Direct Action Texas, the True Texas Project, and so many others. That’s not to forget your own church, local crisis pregnancy center, community soup kitchen, or homeless shelter. As citizens in a nation built on the radical concept of self-governance, we bear the responsibility not only for leading our communities, state, and nation, but also caring for each other. As the year comes to a close, and the hustle and bustle of the holidays bears down, let us each look for opportunities to give, share, and encourage. Today is a great day to start. For Texas! |
