Good morning, Disney decided to propagandize its latest Pixar cartoon for kids by featuring a lesbian kiss and same-sex side-story. Are you going to see the movie? Sound off in today’s One Click Survey. Here is the Texas Minute for Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
John Cornyn Pushes National CRT Curriculum
- Writing in National Review, Stanley Kurtz reports U.S. Sen. John Cornyn of Texas is backing a Democrat bill to create a de facto national school curriculum. It does so by pushing massive grants to states that adopt school materials based on Critical Race Theory.
- Don’t be surprised when Republican convention delegates boo him even louder next time…
- Election integrity has been talked about nonstop since the 2020 presidential election, which was riddled with so many irregularities that many Americans were left believing the election was stolen. Speaking on Texas Scorecard’s Big Stage, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said the only way to restore trust is to prosecute election fraud. Read what he had to said, or watch the full conversation.
- “One of my biggest frustrations is, supposedly, the court of criminal appeals in Texas is saying we can’t prosecute voter fraud anymore,” Paxton told Texas Scorecard. In a ruling widely panned by conservatives and state lawmakers, the state’s highest criminal court ruled last year that the power to prosecute election fraud rests solely with local district attorneys.
Paxton said Texas lawmakers must reauthorize the criminal statute to overturn the ruling… and voters need to remove three of the CCA judges.
“The Legislature needs to go back and reauthorize this criminal statute, and we need to change the Criminal Court of Appeals. We need to make sure that the three members that are up in two years aren’t there anymore after the election.” – Ken Paxton
- There won’t be any “reimagining” of the Alamo going on under the watch of Dawn Buckingham, the GOP nominee for Texas Land Commissioner. That’s what she said in an interview at the Republican Convention on Texas Scorecard’s Big Stage.
- Juliana Berg details the conversation, or you can watch the full interview.
- Under current Land Commissioner George P. Bush, the famous Texas landmark is being restored and remodeled under a plan that calls for the restoration of the Alamo battlefield and preservation of the church. The plan came under fire, however, when San Antonio city officials wanted to move the Cenotaph—a monument commemorating all those who fought for Texas—to a nearby plaza.
- That is not going to happen, said Buckingham.
- “I was speaking to the Alamo folks the other day. They’re going to get ready to start restoring the Cenotaph in its current location, not moving it an inch. But the way they do that is they are going to have to lift the roof off of it.” – Dawn Buckingham
The Reality Behind ‘Transgenderism’ in Kids
- In the wake of LGBT “pride month” and the recent Dallas “Drag the Kids to Pride” event, the issue of “transgenderism” (particularly among children) is raging more than ever across Texas and the nation. Emily Wilkerson has the heart-wrenching details.
- Aided by a medical establishment that has capitulated to the ideology of transgenderism, parents may think they are helping their child by seeking hormone blockers or genital mutilation surgery. The truth, however, is that most children grow out of their gender dysphoria “phase.” Studies on the issue reveal 80-95 percent of children who express concerns about their identity will ultimately identify with their true biological self if their development is unaltered.
- If parents and medical professionals persuade the child to disrupt their adolescent development and permanently disfigure their body, the results are horrific. A long-term Swedish study analyzed individuals who underwent such procedures and found that 10-15 years later, the suicide rate rose 20 times higher than their undamaged counterparts.
- Meanwhile, a report by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies found that transgender individuals may have an increased risk of breast, ovarian, uterine, or prostate cancer due to the injected hormones.
Blasting Biden On Energy Policy
- Kevin Sparks is both an expert in the oil and gas industry and an incoming Republican member of the Texas Senate. Speaking from both perspectives, Sparks told me Texas must “push back against the federal government.”
- Katy Drollinger has a report detailing the most important parts of our conversation, or you can watch it online.
- “You know, Biden is, on one hand, lambasting our industry because we’re not producing more of it, but he’s supporting all of the policies that would keep us from producing more of it.” Sparks explained that major financial institutions, working with leftwing activists, are restricting capital available to oil and gas exploration and production.
Tomball ISD Rejects Health Textbook After Parent Outcry
- The trustees of the Tomball Independent School District voted last week to reject the new Goodheart-Willcox health textbooks for the upcoming school year. As Sydnie Henry reports, the board took their action after hearing testimony from parents despite the book being recommended by the State Board of Education.
- One mother, Jennifer Kratky, highlighted numerous problems with the curriculum presented by the textbooks. Those included, for example, the presence of gender ideology in the section on identity, the use of the term “pregnant person” instead of the biologically correct term of “pregnant woman,” instances of social justice activism, and prompts for small groups of students to discuss matters of a highly sexual nature amongst themselves.
- “Parents expect health class to include the important basics: nutrition, exercise, physical safety, and perhaps mental health, NOT social sciences of identity formation or social justice activism.” – Jennifer Kratky

“If we are too weak to take charge of our own morality, we shall not be strong enough to take charge of our own liberty.”
