When you re-elected me to serve as your Sheriff for a second term, I pledged to continue to serve with integrity, honor, and to be the leader the MCSO needs to be stronger today and better tomorrow. 

I wanted to take a moment to provide you with a brief update of how I have worked to fulfill that promise to you and everyone in Maricopa County.


- Stood unwavering in the truth, refusing to relent to election extremists and conspiracy theorists who attempted to acquire law enforcement equipment and materials for their fraudulent and unnecessary investigations.
- Formed a multi-jurisdictional team of law enforcement leaders that collaborated to create framework and pass legislation for thorough, ethical and transparent investigations of officer involved shooting incidents throughout the State of Arizona.
- Established a working group in partnership with Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center to develop comprehensive law enforcement training on Autism.
- Increased minority hiring and organizational diversity by 8%.
- Established a “Wellness Division”, which provides resources and  support for employees on personal needs such as mental and physical health, critical incident support, nutrition, family care, and other personal needs.
- Met “full and effective” compliance, and held the standard for three consecutive years on 117 paragraphs of the federal courts orders. Currently, the office is at 99% compliance in phase 1, and 81% in phase 2 of the first federal court orders. We are at 100% compliance in phase 1 of the second order and 91% in phase 2.

We are living in volatile times, and this is why we must stand strong in our commitment to meet the public safety demands for our community. This Office will continue to be a target for the agenda-based opponents who wish to politicize policing. But we must keep the past in the past, and reinforce our commitment to ethical, transparent law enforcement.
