Witnesses at today's Jan 6 hearing gave testimony showing that the Jan 6
attack at the Capitol was part of a broader pattern of violence, threats,
and intimidation an MSNBC commentator called "political terrorism."
One election worker testified "The president of the United States is
supposed to represent every American. Not to target one. He targeted me. A
proud American citizen who stood up to help Fulton County run an election
in the middle of a pandemic.”
These hearings are not over, but it is time for Merrick Garland to do his
job. Failure to hold those who broke the law legally accountable will
allow future attacks to succeed and the threat to our democracy will only
grow.

Attorney General Merrick Garland: Trump and his criminal network of coup
conspirators must be prosecuted for lawbreaking. Nobody is above the law,
including ex-presidents. We will deliver signatures to Merrick Garland’s
office and share the support for this petition with the media and key
allies in Congress.

This was -- and still is -- an attack on our vote, our voice, and our
democracy. The threat will continue and grow until those who broke the law
are held accountable.
We must hold those involved in this criminal conspiracy accountable --
even if they are former Presidents or members of Congress -- in order to
protect our right to vote and choose our own leaders.
