This April, I unveiled my climate and sustainability plan for Los Angeles. An increasing number of Americans believe that addressing climate change should be a top priority for our nation’s leaders, and I couldn’t agree more.

The climate crisis is among our city's greatest challenges – and it’s an important opportunity for Los Angeles to rebuild its infrastructure and invest in a more equitable future.

Rick Caruso has introduced ZERO plans to address the climate crisis. This is unacceptable from someone who is running to be our city's next mayor.

The catastrophic effects of climate change require us to transform our economy and address decades of environmental injustice that have left communities overburdened by pollution and underinvestment. Unlike Caruso, I have a plan, and it is bold and unwavering in its intent to make a real difference.

There is no reason why Los Angeles cannot transition away from fossil fuels. I know that our city can achieve its goal of 100 percent clean power by 2035. We will work to dramatically reduce vehicle emissions, get people out of their cars, decarbonize buildings, secure a zero-emission Port of Los Angeles, and appoint environmental champions to get the job done.

Team, this is just one aspect of our vision. I have a plan to ensure all thrive in a clean economy, build healthy and resilient communities, secure a sustainable water future, and protect and expand nature for all Angelenos. That’s what our city deserves – a leader with a vision and a plan!

I hope you’ll take the time to read and endorse our vision for a greener, healthier, and more prosperous L.A.
