John — Last week, Barbara and her Defense Spending Reduction Caucus Co-Chair, Rep. Mark Pocan, introduced legislation to reduce the defense budget by $100 billion.

For far too long, this country has put weapons industry profits ahead of its people. Americans everywhere are struggling with the high cost of living and barriers to affordable housing and health care, and none of our most pressing issues will be resolved through greater military spending.

Taking this step to downsize the Pentagon budget by $100 billion will ensure that our national security truly centers on the American people, not excessive defense spending.
