Dear NCRC members and allies,
Access to paid family and medical leave is an economic and racial justice issue. Nearly everyone will need to take paid time away from their job at some point to address a serious family or medical need, yet just 17% of all workers in the U.S. have access to designated paid family leave to care for a new child or a seriously ill loved one. Even worse, one-third of workers in the private sector do not have even a single paid sick day. For low-wage workers, no paid leave can be devastating to the family budget: just three unpaid days away from work due to illness for a typical worker without paid sick days is equivalent to the grocery budget of a family of four for an entire month.

Learn more at the 2020 Just Economy Conference ([link removed][UNIQID]) , April 27-29 in Washington, DC.

In a session on how to expand paid leave, participants will discuss:
* Programs to ensure small business employees can have access to paid leave through a shared public fund
* State and federal policies in place or under consideration
* What advocates are doing to advance paid leave at the local, state and national levels
