Dear John,
Since my job is to serve my constituents, it’s important to constantly keep you updated on what I’ve been working on. Here’s what I’ve been prioritizing over the past week:
- I voted for H.R. 7776, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2022. This bill supports Albany’s floodplain improvement projects, projects to mitigate stormwater overflow and protect clean drinking water. With these investments, we hope to avoid tragedies like the disastrous ‘500 year’ floods in the 1990s.
- I secured projects to improve internet access and emergency services in Southwest Georgia. As Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, I introduced and led the subcommittee in approving its Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill, and secured wins for Southwest Georgia in the process.
- I have been leading the fight against inflation and supply chain issues. Last week, I supported the Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act to help lower prices for America’s families in the grocery aisle and at the gas pump. Families are struggling with high inflation, and it is a top priority for me to lower prices for all Americans.
- My team and I are ramping up efforts for the General Election. Politico recently reported that the NRCC has booked $52.3 million in their first round of fall TV ads. To be able to fight back against their ads, we have to meet our end-of-quarter fundraising goal. This goal is crucial for giving us the resources we need to build out our campaign and defeat the Republican machine.
To continue delivering real progress for Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District, please consider making a contribution to help me reach my end-of-quarter fundraising goal.
Thank you for being with me in this.
Sincerely,
Congressman Sanford Bishop
