Friend,
I've never taken a dime from corporate PACs because I'm beholden to no one but people like you. Not the lobbyists. Not the special interests.
You.
If we're going to end the culture of corruption in Washington and get our democracy working for the people again, we've got to ensure Members of Congress work for the people they represent -- not anyone else.
That's why I recently helped introduce the Ban Corporate PACs Act last week. If you're with me to end the influence of corporate money, add your name as a citizen co-sponsor today. Let’s get Congress working for the people again.
To put the power of corporate PACs into perspective, here's some math:
Last election cycle, 1,732 corporate PACs donated more than $400 million to federal campaigns, including contributing more than $185 million directly to candidates.
Comparatively, the average online, grassroots donation to our campaign and Democrats across the country on ActBlue is about $38. That means it would take roughly 10.5 million grassroots contributions to equal the $400 million donated by 1,732 corporate PACs.
It's not a level playing field.
We must end the dominance of corporate PACs so that progress can be made on issues important to everyday people, like investing in infrastructure, raising the minimum wage, and making healthcare more affordable.
Are you with me? Add your name to become a citizen co-sponsor to the Ban Corporate PAC Act today.
Thank you,
