Dear John,
It's a milestone week at PAWS Chicago, and today I'm inviting you to be a part of it by participating in our very first Giving Day on June 23.

This special day marks the 25th anniversary of PAWS Chicago’s promise to end the mass euthanasia of homeless pets. And, so far, our transformative spay/neuter programs have helped reduce citywide euthanasia by 91%. But there are still thousands upon thousands of sick, injured, abandoned and abused pets who can’t survive without us—and you.

That’s why we’re asking animal lovers everywhere to make or reaffirm their promise to help.

Excitement for Giving Day has already started to build on social media with celebs like Q101's Ali Matta and 101.9 The Mix's Chis Petlak sharing their personal promises to homeless pets.

Please join this growing movement by making your own promise to homeless pets, and help us build a future where no dog, cat, puppy or kitten is forgotten again.
Make My Promise

From Shoebox to Loving Family

Chicago police found this puppy they named Cow abandoned in an alley, and called PAWS to help her get medical care and find a home. It turns out "till the cows come home" isn’t very long at all!

PAWS Through the Eyes of a Student

As part of Katie Manika’s last year of vet school, she joined PAWS for an externship in which she shadowed shelter vets, getting an inside look at what it takes to help animals with behavior issues. Hint: The solution involves adopters changing their behaviors, too!

Reserve A Spot in the 2023 Desktop Calendar

The PAWS Chicago Desktop Calendar isn’t just a great way to treat yourself (and your pet), it makes an incredible present, too. You can honor your friend's pet, your pet's friend, a neighborhood pet, an office pet—get creative. You can also donate a feature to one of our volunteers or long-term shelter pets.

Every penny goes toward giving homeless animals a second chance, meaning your pet’s cuteness will literally save lives.

Volunteer of the Month: Sarah Francek

Sarah has been a PAWS volunteer for about a year and a half and truly believes in the healing power of puppies. “I have always felt at ease and the most content when I am around a dog. They are good-natured, unquestionably loyal, and so affectionate. Dogs have a way of helping you heal.” See all the great work Sarah is supporting at PAWS.

PAWS in the News: Angels with Tails Returns to Gold Coast

After a pandemic hiatus, we were delighted to be back in the heart of the Gold Coast, bringing dozens of Chicago’s homeless animals to 26 stores along Oak Street, Rush Street, and Delaware Place for an afternoon of shopping and saving lives. At the end of the day, we found homes for 43 animals! Watch news coverage from this extra-special event.

Lilly Lou, Who is Much More Than Two

Lilly Lou is a kitty nearing her 15th birthday, and she’ll be celebrating it in a loving home with her new best friends, Sasha and Kelly. This trio’s story began with love at first sight. But they didn’t lock eyes across a crowded room. All it took was one look at Lilly Lou’s picture online before they knew it was meant to be.
