Doug Mastriano, the GOP’s insurrectionist candidate for Governor, is within the margin of error to win the election and be in position to end free and fair elections for the future of Pennsylvania — just like he tried and failed to do in 2020. As we saw in 2016 and many times since, even confident polling can underestimate the chances of MAGA candidates like Trump and Mastriano.

Let’s talk facts about Mastriano’s dangerous record. The January 6 Committee named him a key figure in their investigation, yet he has refused their subpoena.

Here are a few of the actions we know Mastriano took to undermine the 2020 general election:
- He introduced legislation to overturn Pennsylvania’s election results and give the state legislature the power to decide who won.
- He crossed police lines at the Capitol on January 6 and repeatedly lied about it afterwards, despite video evidence.
- He spent $3,000 of his campaign’s money to bus participants to the Capitol on January 6.
- He constantly spread the Big Lie leading up to the attack — in fact, Trump’s own Attorney General revealed in testimony aired during the January 6 hearings that Mastriano’s claims about the Pennsylvania election were not just false, but intentionally misleading.

Now, Mastriano’s claiming the January 6 attack was a false flag operation like the 1933 Reichstag fire the Nazis used to seize power. If you’re thinking “that sounds familiar,” you’d be right. Just after the Uvalde, TX massacre, he came under fire for defending a similar inaccurate claim linking the prevention of gun violence to Nazis’ confiscation of their political enemies’ guns.
