*LANSING, Mich. ?* Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the following appointments to the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission, Michigan Corn Marketing Program Committee, Michigan Historical Commission, Michigan Wheat Promotion Committee, Large Carnivore Breeding Advisory Committee, Board of Law Examiners, Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board, Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs, and the Michigan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education Advisory Council (MI-STEM Council).??

Ronny Chiang, of Bloomfield Hills, is the vice chairman and co-founder of BEET, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the National Taipei Institute of Technology, Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Master of Business Administration from The City University of New York. Mr. Chiang is appointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2023. He succeeds Amina Iqbal who has resigned.??

Hoa Dinh, of Shelby Township, is an engineering manager for Ford Motor Company. He is the president of the Vietnamese American Association of Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University and Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Mr. Dinh is reappointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2025.?

Annum Ghayas, of Rochester Hills, is the director of enterprise financial planning and analysis for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. She is the founder of the Asian Pacific Employee Resource Network and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University. Miss Ghayas is appointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2025. She succeeds Ryan Rosario whose term expired November 30, 2021.??

Rebeka Islam, of Sterling Heights, is the executive director of Asian Pacific Islander American Vote-Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University. Ms. Islam is appointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2025. She succeeds Chandragupta Padmanabha Acharya whose term expired November 20, 2021.??

Kavy Lenon, of Norton Shores, is the manager of supplier diversity for Meijer, Inc. She is a member of the West Michigan Asian American Association, president of the Lao Lahanam Association of Holland, and a corporate advisor for the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Michigan. Ms. Lenon is appointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2023. She succeeds Mehruba Akhtar who has resigned.?

Suchiraphon McKeithen-Polish, Ph.D., of Sterling Heights, is a bilingual education consultant, program director, and Title III director for the Macomb Intermediate School District. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Oakland University, master?s degree from the University of Colorado-Denver, and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Francisco State University. Dr. McKeithen-Polish is reappointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2025.?

Caroline Polly, of Washington, is the chief operator of Thai Feast, LLC and the bookkeeper and human resources for Bangkok 96 Foodservice. She is the secretary for the Michigan Hmong Woman Association and she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Walsh College. Mrs. Polly is appointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring November 30, 2025. She succeeds Adi Sathi whose term expired November 30, 2021.??

Dr. Fernandez-Jones is reappointed for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring May 21, 2026.?

The Michigan Historical Commission was established in 1913 and advises the director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources on the museum, archival, and other programs of the Michigan Historical Center.???

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University. Dr. Blessman is reappointed to represent individuals licensed to practice medicine and recommended by the Speaker of the House. He will serve for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring December 31, 2025.?

Dena Nazer, M.D., of Detroit, is the medical director and child abuse pediatrician for Kids TALK Children?s Advocacy Center Medical Clinic and an associate professor of pediatrics at Wayne State University. She earned her medical degree from the University of Jordan. Dr. Nazer is appointed to represent individuals licensed to practice medicine and recommended by the Senate Majority Leader for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring December 31, 2025. She succeeds Subburaman Sivakumar whose term expired December 31, 2021.??

The Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board was established to collect and analyze information concerning medical and mental health services available to survivors of human trafficking, identify state, federal and local agencies that are involved with issues relating to human trafficking, and coordinate the dissemination of information concerning medical and mental health services available to survivors of human trafficking in this state. The Board may establish a program to improve public awareness of medical and mental health services available to survivors of human trafficking in this state.???

Dr. Murphy is appointed to represent a member of a public zoo for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring June 21, 2026. She succeeds Ronald Kagan who has resigned.?

Diane Thompson, of Marshall, is the president and CEO of Binder Park Zoo. She holds a bachelor?s degree in business from Siena Heights University and a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University. Ms. Thompson is reappointed to represent a member of a private zoo for a term commencing June 21, 2022 and expiring June 21, 2026.?

The Large Carnivore Breeding Advisory Committee was created to advise the Department of Agricultural and Rural Development on applications for a breeding license. The Committee consists of the state veterinarian, who shall serve as chairperson, and two members appointed by the Governor.?
