Join Sara’s Movement to Protect Reproductive Health Data

When the opinion leaked that showed the Supreme Court is preparing to overturn Roe v. Wade, I got a lot of messages from people worried about the privacy implications of the decision—and so I got to work on a bill to address it.
More and more red states are moving to criminalize abortion, which means private reproductive health data from period tracking apps and website search histories could be used to monitor and punish people who seek abortions.
Like millions of Americans, I use a period tracking app to track my cycle. When I learned that reproductive health data isn't protected and could be sold to third parties, I got mad – and I got to work.
That is why I am introducing a bill to limit the reproductive health data that apps and websites collect, and protect what they do collect from being shared or sold. The My Body, My Data Act will protect our information, protect our privacy, and reaffirm our rights to make our own decisions about our own bodies.
I am proud that the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and NARAL support my efforts. Now, we need to show there is grassroots support for protecting reproductive health data by getting 5,000 signatures before Friday. Will you become a citizen co-sponsor of my bill today by adding your name?
