Look, John. The situation is DIRE. Political commentators have gone as far to say “we’ve never seen anything — anything — like this on Capitol Hill.”

After a horrific spate of gun violence across the country, Rep. Chris Jacobs, a Republican, said he would support a federal ban on assault weapons. In response, the GOP turned on him and now he’s retiring.

But that’s not all: More than 100 — nearly half of — House Republicans are hosting a fundraiser for Liz Cheney’s primary opponent, just because Rep. Cheney spoke out about the insurrectionist attack on our Capitol. Not only are insurrectionists openly running for office but now this!?!?

Republicans will do anything to maintain their grip on power, even if it means turning on one of their own. Rep. Chris Jacobs only crime was trying to save innocent American lives lost to gun violence. Rep. Liz Cheney’s only crime was standing up for our democracy. But they won’t stop there. Some Republicans have gone so far as to suggest that Rep. Adam Schiff, Rep. Jamie Raskin, and other Jan. 6th Committee members could be jailed if Republicans retake the House!!

This is the worst possible scenario, and we need every Democrat and every patriot to take action and fight for our democracy.
