John — in this campaign for Colorado’s future, we don’t talk a whole lot about our opponents. We’d rather stay focused on Governor Polis’s vision for improving the lives of Colorado families.

But the fact is, in one week, one of the right-wing opponents running against us will be the official Republican nominee for Governor. And here in Colorado, we’re continuing to encounter an alarming amount of misinformation from GOP candidates and groups: 

We’ve heard claims that the 2020 election was “stolen” and that the Jan. 6 insurrectionists were “patriots.” 

We’ve heard the Colorado national guard will be sent down south to finish building the wall. 

We’ve heard calls for abortion bans and attacks on LGBTQ+ Coloradans that sound like they should be from 60 years ago.

John, here’s the choice we face in Colorado: we can keep working steadily to build on our progress and overcome the challenges we face — or we can let extreme right-wing special interests elect a candidate who will take Colorado in the wrong direction.

We’re under no illusions about what we’re up against here. It’s going to be a competitive race, and it kicks into gear in just one week.
