CDC NISVS 2022
Friend,
Last week, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) released the latest
National Intimate Partner Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) Report on
Sexual Violence. This report analyzes NISVS data from 2016-2017 to
provide updated estimates on the prevalence of rape, sexual coercion,
unwanted sexual contact, and sexual harassment.

Key Findings: "Sexual violence continues to be common, starts
early, and people from some racial and ethnic minority groups are
heavily burdened by sexual violence victimization."
The report analyzes prevalence data by race/ethnicity, identifies the
characteristics of the victimization, and examines the direct impacts
of victimization and its associated health conditions.
Research is critical to advancing our understanding of sexual
violence, driving prevention efforts, and measuring progress along the
way. That's why NSVRC has published the new resource What You
Need To Know: The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey
(NISVS) 2016/2017 Report on Sexual Violence.
