With the conservative-majority Supreme Court set to overturn Roe v. Wade at any moment, the task of protecting reproductive rights will fall to the states.
But here in Wisconsin, an archaic law that bans and criminalizes abortion could take effect unless it is repealed immediately.
Our Democratic governor has committed to not enforcing this law, but he’s up for re-election in November. Our right to reproductive freedom shouldn’t hinge on which party is living in the Governor’s Mansion, or the White House. Republicans control our legislature, and it’s time for them to set partisan priorities aside and REPEAL this cruel bill at tomorrow’s special session.
The majority of Americans know that access to safe, legal abortion care is essential. We are that majority, and we all need to speak out with one voice and MAKE Republican legislators listen.
