Sometimes it takes a little explaining about why your donation to Gavin Newsom’s re-election is so important. So let us be as honest as we can be here.

Here it goes.

Is Gavin Newsom favored to win re-election this November? Yes.

Is his re-election guaranteed in what could be a tough year for Democrats? No.

Will we use your donation to turn out Democrats this November? Yes.

Will anyone turn out more Democrats than Gavin Newsom? No.

Will that help pass a constitutional amendment protecting abortion access in California? Yes.

Will it help push Dems in a few close races over the edge to victory? Yes.

The truth is, almost all of our donations come from people making individual donations. That’s how we fund the work. That’s how we keep California blue.

But it won’t happen unless we ask, and that’s what we have to do today:
