John,
The media knew the truth, but they still printed the story. Democrats and the media are trying to create a fake controversy with my campaign because the economy is a mess and it's the Democrats' fault. Since they can't win on the issues, they are coming after my family and my children. That's a step too far. John, I knew this race could get ugly, but I never thought they'd bring my family into it. Please watch the interview I did over the weekend at the Faith and Freedom Coalition where I addressed these attacks directly: 
Many people avoid politics because of the nasty things that are said and done. I knew what I signed up for when I decided to run for the U.S. Senate, but I thought it was worth the risk if I could help get America back on track. The fact that they are bringing my children into the race is absolutely unacceptable. Come after me all you want, but leave my family out of it. But let me be clear: even this despicable level of gutter politics is not going to break my resolve. As the Prophet Isaiah said, no weapon formed against me shall prosper! When things get tough in life, sometimes it seems like giving up is the easiest way out. But I've never been a quitter. In fact, I dig deeper and work even harder when I'm challenged.
