Dear Friend,
I am so immensely grateful for the outpouring of support we received in response to our World Refugee Day match campaign. I know we say this a lot, but it warrants another mention here: as a nonprofit humanitarian medical organization, what we do would not be possible without the support of our donors.
With over 45,000 staff currently on the ground in more than 70 countries, you can rest assured that our teams will continue to provide lifesaving care to displaced people, and essential health services to the people who need it most around the world.
For us, World Refugee Day is every day. The foundational promise of MSF is that we provide care to the most vulnerable people wherever they are. Here’s a snapshot of just some of the work that this community makes possible:
In Mexico, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams are working on Mexico’s southern and northern borders, and at various key locations in between, offering medical, psychological, and social support to migrants and refugees.
In Libya, we’re treating men, women, and children who are being arbitrarily held in official detention centers run by the Libyan authorities, as well as those who had escaped clandestine prisons.
In Bangladesh, our teams continue to respond to the medical and humanitarian needs of both Rohingya refugees who fled persecution in neighbording Myanmar and vulnerable Bangladeshi communities.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
