This is how Big Pharma exploits our elders: Last November, as the nation
continued to reel from the pandemic, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services announced it was increasing its premiums by nearly 15 percent—the
largest price hike in Medicare history— burdening close to 60 million
senior citizens.

This is inexcusable. Inflating premiums for seniors who rely on Medicare
is not only unfair, it’s immoral. 

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) can step up by issuing
rebate checks to overcharged seniors before November of this year. Even
rebates as small as $100 would have a significant impact. But HHS won’t do
it unless we demand action.

Healthcare is not a luxury—it’s a right. We cannot allow Big Pharma’s
profit-driven whims to dictate on critical matters that affect the lives
of millions of people. 

I will fight tooth and nail to keep Medicare premiums low, and continue
holding greedy corporations’ feet to the fire to prevent them from ripping
off everyday Americans.

Access to lifesaving medication shouldn’t be a struggle. Medicare rebate
checks will redistribute money where it rightfully belongs—in the hands of
our senior citizens.
